Home Renovation Client Testimonials

“We had the exterior of our house redone, with new doors and painting.  This is the second time we have used Paul and his crew and are extremely satisfied with the results.  They are prompt, professional, and know what they are doing.  Quality work.”

“We have been working with Welhouse Construction since 1989 for various projects in our home. First, a new 4 seasons’ 18′ x 18′ additional room, which became our ‘spa’ room–this also created an outdoor small deck area to our patio. Then, we completely remodeled our kitchen, which became a larger project than originally expected, as Dave Welhouse offered some great suggestions to enhance to look, one by adding a skylight and raising the ceiling. From there, we had Welhouse Construction had a skylight in our upper hallway. As the years moved forward, we decided to redo our master bathroom, and again, called upon Welhouse Construction to do this project. We felt so confident in their work, that we actually left them to complete the project and went on vacation for 6 weeks! We came home to a beautiful bathroom, which won Welhouse Construction the 2014 Fox Valley NARI Level Best $20,000 and Over award. They also helped with an upgrade on our main bathroom. Not to be finished, we contracted them to put on a new roof.

We could not be more happy with all the work we have had them do to our house over the past 29 years! We feel like they are extended family, and if we can find another project, we would definitely call on Paul and his team!”

“Paul Welhouse and his team provided the utmost in Customer Service. Follow-up and follow-through on steroids. Paul personally responded to emails and phone calls, sometimes within minutes, but always by days end. Unbelievable in this day and age. Without question or hesitation would retain Welhouse Construction again. We were completely satisfied with the end result. Excellent workmanship with entire project.”

“We’re always grateful for your good work, your quick response to our needs and your friendly, helpful spirit. Thank you”

“In late 2015 we decided it was time to give our 11 year old condo a face-lift and not only remodel the kitchen but try to enhance its overall functionality by changing the galley kitchen into a working kitchen with a large island…which also meant removing a small wall.

We interviewed several contractors and got competitive quotes from 5 different contractors. The criteria being evaluated included:

Contractors Craftsmanship, Contractors, Education/Experience, Contractors attention to detail and responsiveness, Contractors standards for delivering quality results, Value for services provided, Ability to deliver on time and within budget, Design suggestions – ability to think outside of the box

We selected Welhouse Construction Services LLC and we are happy to report that the general contractor, Paul Welhouse delivered and EXCELED in all areas noted above. From the first time he visited out home we could tell his attention to detail, his years of experience and knowledge were superior.

The project was completed on time AND within budget with NO significant changes to the bottom line (unless it was something new that WE added to the scope of the project).

As with any remodel, unexpected items popped up here and there but Paul was always very responsive, communicative and resolved any minor issues in a professional and very timely manner.

Bottom line, we are thrilled and would not hesitate to use their services again!

PS….LOVE the Cambria counter-tops!”

“Problem with the deck.  The problem is, with such impressive work, we’ll NEVER be able to have another team work on any part of our house!  Your guys are doing amazing work – beautifully thorough and “above and beyond.”  Thank you thank you thank you.  So very pleased with your quality!

Everything looks just wonderful – we’re so so happy with the deck.  We’re so impressed with you attention to detail and clean-up – looks like you weren’t even there!  We appreciate your skills and the skills of your team!  What a great experience.  Can’t wait until we do more!  Thank you!”

“Many many thanks for creating a beautiful kitchen and surrounding areas for us.  We love our new kitchen and praise Welhouse Construction Services for exceeding our expectations.  You are truly masters of your craft.  We regret that we didn’t do it sooner.  We appreciate a job well done and your dedicated work ethics.  Joe and Rommy would be proud as we are of our kitchen!  In thanks and praise.”

“After toughing out a couple winters we decided to finally fix the front door.  We needed a new door and threshold.  We thought by his reputation that Paul would do a good job at a fair price and we were very pleased.  Next, we had leaky roof that Paul also promptly took care of.  With two good experiences behind us we decided to finally fulfill a dream of an addition to our home.  We are THRILLED!  Paul, Diane and Dave listened to all our requests and requirements and took them to reality.  We could not be happier – thank you, thank you, thank you!”

“Not long after moving into our 1935 character home, we wanted to fully renovate our kitchen in order to open the room to the adjacent dining room and make the kitchen more functional. Often when entertaining company, one of us was “stuck” in the kitchen preparing a meal. That pesky wall between the dining room and kitchen created an unwanted barrier.

Our primary concern was locating a knowledgeable contractor that would properly remove the weight-bearing wall between the two rooms without causing structural damage.  We received a recommendation to consider Welhouse Construction.  Welhouse was hired and we don’t regret the decision. Welhouse started and finished the project on time and in a clean and organized manner.  They did an excellent job communicating with us regarding any bottlenecks and the status of the project.  An impressive job was done in order to configure the opening between the kitchen and dining room and still maintain the character of our home.

We now have a jaw-dropping fully renovated kitchen that we love to show off.  No more partially blocked door due to an oversized fridge. And due to the additional cupboard space, no more having to travel to the basement in order to retrieve oversized pots and pans that once didn’t fit in the kitchen. Lastly, we love eating at the peninsula between the two rooms.

Thanks Team!”

“Thank you so much for another excellent job on our house.  We’re so pleased with your work and willingness to meet our needs.  We really appreciate it!  Thanks”

“The building looks AWESOME!!!  Welhouse Construction does it again!!  Hopefully, I will be able to spend time in it until a ripe old age!!  Thanks a million for the great job once again, I am certain I will thoroughly enjoy it!!”

“Thank you so much for the many hours and talents you gave to Rebuilding Together Fox Valley.  Our day was great helping the Hinken’s as a family working together.  The work you did prior to May 1 and the work afterward made our job so easy!  You were a great Project Manager!”

“Last summer we contacted Paul on the recommendation of a friend to talk about some remodeling ideas for the master bedroom/bath suite in the home we’d recently purchased.  From the point of our first meeting with Paul and Dave Welhouse, we were sold on the idea of contracting with Welhouse Construction to do the work.

Paul worked with us relentlessly to come up with a plan that was possible to craft within the physical parameters of our home and our own financial and aesthetic wishes.  Are we pleased with the project?  Yes!  Did it meet our expectations? Absolutely!  And even though these are important questions to answer affirmatively, more significant from our perspective is the matter of process and we were very satisfied with this aspect of the project.

Paul Welhouse is an excellent contractor.  His expertise in construction and working with the customer are outstanding.  He did an excellent job coordinating the related craftsmen who worked on the project from inspectors to electricians, plasterers, and plumbers and kept us in the loop throughout. Remodeling can be stressful and Paul worked with us to minimize that strain.  He was always responsive to questions and concerns from us.  On any given day that he was in the house working, he didn’t leave until the mess he’d created that day had been cleaned up and the area was left as orderly as possible.  He never lost sight of the fact that the project was his to oversee, but ours to judge, stating more than once that the project wasn’t finished until we were happy with it.

We can state for the record that the project is finished.  We are delighted with the way it turned out and, more importantly, with the process that accompanied the work. There is no question that we will contact Paul and Dave again should we have other remodeling needs in our future. It is our pleasure to recommend Welhouse Construction.”

“Jane and I are really glad we chose you to do this project for us. You and your subs were great to work with. We appreciated your ideas and your flexibility with the design and schedule, working around Jane’s surgery and accommodating our changing minds.  It really helped for us to have your support throughout the process and it also meant a lot to us to have the confidence we had in you. We are very pleased with and proud of the results of our master bath.   Thanks again!  Best Regards.”

“Our compliments to you and your team for your excellent work.  The total project exceeded our expectations.  We were very impressed with your attention to detail.  Your subs were very prompt and also did a fine job.  We are looking forward to our next project and your input!  Thanks again.”
