For more than 120 years, Welhouse Construction Services has been one of the Fox Valley’s most trusted names in residential and commercial building and remodeling. As a fourth‑generation, family‑rooted company, we’ve helped families and businesses across Northeast Wisconsin bring their spaces to life through thoughtful structural design, quality construction, remodeling, and interior design services. Our legacy is built on craftsmanship, integrity, and a commitment to creating spaces that stand strong for generations.
Early 1900’s
Brothers Joseph and Anthony Welhouse began their work building barns with hand tools and horses, using timber cut from each homeowner’s own land. Their timber‑frame structures stood strong through storms and the heavy demands of farm life, quickly earning the Welhouse name a reputation for exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and service.
1932 On To Homebuilding
Joseph’s son, Jerome, joins the business—leaving high school to help support the family. As the Welhouse name becomes known for exceptional woodwork, the company naturally grows from barn building into home construction and renovation. With demand rising, Jerome’s brothers—Harold, James, and Eugene—soon join him, expanding the family craft even further.

1960 Meeting Growing Needs
Jerome and his son David began crafting custom woodwork, including cabinets, built‑ins, doors, and finished trim. Jerome purchased the business from his brothers and renamed it Jerome Welhouse Construction, Inc. During the 1960s, the expanding paper industry and rapid growth of the Fox Valley region created a significant demand for new housing. Rising to meet this need, Jerome Welhouse Construction, Inc. became one of the area’s first builders to develop spec homes, helping shape the region’s growing communities.
1969 A Refreshing Tradition
The Welhouse family becomes highly skilled at working in unconventional building conditions, prompting a shift in the company’s focus toward renovation and remodeling. Jerome and his team discover that they thrive on the unique challenges remodeling presents—navigating the unknowns hidden behind walls, meeting strict city building codes that often complicate projects, and seamlessly integrating new additions with existing structures—all while homeowners continue living in their homes.

1980 A 3rd Generation
As the business evolves, David steps into a partnership role, ushering in a new chapter under the name Jerome Welhouse & Son Construction Company, LLC. With a commitment to craftsmanship and professionalism, he joins the Fox Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), earns his Certified Remodeler designation, and guides the company to multiple NARI Chapter and Regional awards.
In 2001, after earning a master’s degree in engineering and spending 13 years in the corporate world, David’s son Paul returns to the Fox Valley to continue the family tradition.

2003 A New Fourth Generation
After gaining experience alongside his grandfather Jerome and father David, Paul officially buys into the business in 2003, moving the company into its fourth generation. As the need for homes that support all ages and abilities grew, Welhouse Construction expanded to include aging‑in‑place and universal design solutions—guided by Paul’s specialized certifications.
With a continued focus on maintenance‑free, energy‑efficient, and sustainable building practices, Paul later became a green certified professional. Today, Welhouse Construction Services is a full‑service design, remodel, and build firm.

Every day, we’re building more than homes — we’re building our family’s story, and we’re honored to be part of yours. These are the moments we’ll talk about around the table, the memories that stay with us, and the legacy that will be shared for generations to come.
Thank you for trusting us to help craft a small part of your family’s story — your home.
